Layers #150 and Pat and I Go to New York

This will be a long post ladies..Sorry but Pat my wonderful DT sister decided to come visit me in New York before I go back to work on Tuesday.  We kept talking about it, and finally just did it. We stayed at the Park Central Hotel which by the way was the perfect location and had a wonderful time.    I honesty can't wait to do it again which of course we plan on doing in another six months.   We went to Ellis Island which sad to say, I've never been before.  We saw two Broadway Shows The first One Man, Two Guvnors which we laughed so hard my sides still hurt.  The second, Silence the Musical which is parody on Silence of the Lambs which I would tell you to run the other way and not go to see it.  We go suckered into a comedy show,  ate some fabulous foods and had a wonderful time.  Here are a few pictures of our New York Adventure.

Yes, we even have water taxi's in New York.  Oh and I taught Pat how to hail a real Taxi cab in New York
Taxi!!!!

This is a statue of the Merchant Marines to honor those that died.  It is along the path while waiting to go through  the security check point before boarding the ferry to Ellis Island.   Oh yeah, the one I tried to pass up...  I'm sure you would have heard about it on the news.
Lady Liberty along the way.   We did not stop on Liberty Island becuase she is under construction but you still could have hopped off the ferry and walked around.

I really enjoyed Ellis Island as did Pat.  We met some interesting people and I got some education and can't wait to go again.  So glad you took me Pat.
We went to diner at  a Brazilian Restaurant on the east side called Alfama.  Michael and his girlfriend met us and we had a wonderful time.  The food was Fabulous.

Ok.. On to our challenge which is another easy challenge for us this week at Mo's...Layers now how easy is that.  So I hope you come and join us this week, just remember to use one of Mos adorable images and you're good to go.

This was a commissioned card and I had to rush it, so I am not happy with the skin tone.  I know I can do much better so I will work on it.  But as long as she was happy with it, that's all that matters.   I used Cupcake Princess which you can find

Distressing #149

Well, once again it Thusday which means it's time for Mo's...This week we decided to use distressing as our theme, now how easy is that... I started my project off with one of those $1 books I found at Michaels but alas it was my last one.  But well worth it for James as he is such a sweetheart.  Hopefully they will get some more in as I love making these books and still need to make one for myself.    I used Super Duper Boy which you can find in both the Old Store HERE and the New Store HERE.

Welcome Baby Joseph

Well,  it's the first  Thursday of the month and you know what that means, it's "Anything Goes at Mo's"  So the skies the limit as far as your creativity goes.  Just remember to use one of Mo's adorable images and you're good to go... This time however, I couldn't decide which one to use, so I decided to use two different ones.  One for the tag, and one for the card.  For the tag I used Baby and Bunny which you can find in both the new store and the old store HERE and HERE and for my pyramid card I used this adorable little set of sailor boys which comes in a set HERE.

As you all know, I've been kniting away and making tons of baby blankets, but this one is special since this one is for my niece who just had her second baby.  A baby boy who came to us a little earlier than expected so welcome Joseph Nicholas.
